September 29, 2018 -
On Tuesday night Jason Hughes traveled to Batesville Motor Speedway (Batesville, Arkansas) competing in a field of 114 IMCA Modifieds for the second annual Race for Hope 74. With time trials on Tuesday night setting the line-ups for heats on Wednesday, Hughes recorded the 8th fastest time overall positioning him on the pole of his heat race. Cruising to a heat race win, Jason earned the 5th-starting position for the opening night feature. Locking the Top 8 finishers into the $20,000-to-win A-Main on Saturday, Jason Hughes scored a 3rd place finish behind Ricky Thornton Jr. and Cayden Carter with Justin Kay and Drew Armstrong completing the Top-5 finishers. Earning the 7th-starting position for the $20,000-to-win A-Main on Saturday night, Jason held his spot for all 74-laps to place 7th.

September 22, 2018 -
After losing Thursday’s opener to bad weather, Jason Hughes was one of 84 United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) entries signed in at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) on Friday night for the 20th annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree. Dropping one spot in his heat, Hughes recorded a 6th place finish transferring him into the B-Main. Needing a 3rd place finish or better to make the opening night feature, Jason gained four spots to place 2nd behind Steve Wetzstein. Coming one spy shy of a Top-5 finish in the feature, Jason Hughes advanced through the field 19 spots in the 40-lap affair reeling in a 6th place finish.

The following night, Hughes logged an 8th place finish in his heat race giving him another shot at the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Sending the Top 3 into the show, Jason fell back to a 9th place outing forcing him to rely on a provisional into the show. Rolling off 31st, Jason Hughes gained 19 positions in the 50-lapper to place 12th.

September 15, 2018 -
On Saturday evening Jason Hughes was one of 32 Touring Outlaw Modified Series (TOMS) entries signed in at Salina Highbanks Speedway (Pryor Creek, Oklahoma) for the $1,500 top prize. Jumping up one spot in his heat, Hughes cruised to a heat race victory positioning him 6th on the starting grid for the A-Main. Slipping past Tyler Wolff for the lead on lap-3, Hughes held a comfortable lead in the early stages when he made contact with a lap car that flattened his right-front tire. He fell back to a 20th place outing in the 25-lap affair.

Returning behind the wheel of the Shannon Scott’s #4 Super Late Model entry, Jason Hughes invaded Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday evening for the 48th annual World 100. Drawing 101 Super Late Models for a pair of preliminary features, Jason came up one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a 5th place finish. Needing a 2nd place finish or better in his B-Main to make the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Hughes recorded a 5th place outing.

Friday and Saturday's program was postponed by Mother Nature to October 12th and 13th.

September 1, 2018 -
Friday night found Jason Hughes in action at Tri-State Speedway (Pocola, Oklahoma) for the 2nd annual USRA Modified Fall Nationals. In a field of 32 Open Wheel Modifieds, Jason passed three cars in his heat race to pick up the 10-lap victory. Earning the 2nd-starting position for the main event on Saturday night, Hughes slipped past race-leader Tyler Wolff early and held the top spot for the remaining distance capturing his first win of the season and a $5,000 payday. Wolff, Chad Wheeler, Trevor Latham, and Tate Cole completed the Top-5 finishers in the 35-lap affair.
