June 30, 2018 -
Making his first start of the season in the Super Late Model ranks, Jason Hughes traveled to Tri-State Speedway (Pocola, Oklahoma) on Friday night powering Shannon Scott's #4 entry for the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) sanctioned program. With 19 cars registered in for action, Hughes locked his spot into the opening night feature with a 3rd place finish in his heat race. Hanging on to a Top-10 finish in the 40-lap feature, Jason notched a 6th place spot.

The following night at Salina Highbanks Speedway (Pryor Creek, Oklahoma) for the event co-sanctioned with the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA), Hughes landed a 3rd place finish in his heat positioning him 9th on the starting grid for the $3,000-to-win A-Main. Breaking into a Top-5 spot, Jason Hughes passed five cars in the 30-lapper to place 4th behind Chad Simpson, Payton Looney, and Cade Dillard with Logan Martin coming in 5th. (Todd Boyd photos)

On Saturday evening for the second round of the ARMI Freedom Classic, Hughes secured his spot into the $5,000-to-win finale with a heat race victory. Rolling off on the pole, Jason Hughes dropped two positions notching a 3rd place finish behind Jesse Stovall and Logan Martin with Will Vaught and Tony Jackson Jr. completing the Top-5 finishers.

Wednesday night brought Jason Hughes to 141 Speedway (Francis Creek, Wisconsin) for the two-day Clash at the Creek. Competing in two rounds of heat races, Hughes dropped one spot in his first heat to place 3rd. Rolling off 10th in his second heat, Jason passed five cars reeling in a 5th place finish. Transferring into the B-Main on Thursday, Hughes scored a 2nd place finish behind Terry Phillips locking his spot into the $10,000-to-win A-Man. Earning the 15th-starting position, Jason Hughes gained six spots in the 50-lap affair reeling in a 9th place finish.

June 16, 2018 -
Jason Hughes was one of 58 Open Wheel Modifieds signed in at Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin) on Thursday evening kicking off the 2nd annual Modified Masters. Jumping up one spot in his 8-lap heat race, Hughes recorded a 2nd place finish behind A.J. Diemel locking him into the 11th-starting position for the opening night preliminary feature. Losing four spots in the 40-lap affair, Jason registered a 15th place outing.

On Friday evening for two rounds of heat races, Hughes jumped up one spot in his first heat logging a 8th place finish. Holding his spot in his second heat, Jason recorded a 5th place finish.

Earning a spot into the C-Main on Saturday, Jason passed seven cars reeling in a runner-up finish behind Travis Saurer. Jumping up four spots in his B-Main, Hughes locked his spot into the $40,000-to-win A-Main with a 10th place finish. Breaking into the Top-5, Jason Hughes advanced through the field 17 spots in the 70-lapper to place 5th behind Rodney Sanders, Cade Dillard, Dereck Ramirez, and A.J. Diemel.
