Making the trip to Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kansas), Jason Hughes was one of thirty-nine entries signed in for the 11th Annual Spring Fling on Saturday. Capturing a heat race win in the opening night of the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) MSD Central Region, Hughes earned a pole position starting spot for the 42-lap feature honoring the late Grant Junghans. Leading the entire distance, Jason Hughes picked up his second victory of the 2016 season with Ryan Gustin, Zack VanderBeek, Hunter Marriott, and Daniel Hilsabeck rounding out the top five. Continuing on with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) Winter Speedweeks, Jason Hughes traveled to Southern Oklahoma Speedway (Ardmore, Oklahoma) on Thursday night. Starting in 3rd for his heat race, Hughes cruised to an 8-lap win setting him up with a 4th place starting spot for the feature. With the winner of the 35-lap A-Main earning a $2,000 payday, Jason gained two spots scoring a runner-up finish behind Ryan Gustin with Rodney Sanders, Cade Dillard, and Stormy Scott rounding out the top five.

Improving six positions in his heat race on Friday night, Jason earned a 6th place starting spot for the feature after placing 3rd in his heat. Battling for the $3,000-to-win A-Main, Hughes made his way into the top five by lap 30. Recording a 4th place finish in the 40-lapper, Jason Hughes trailed Rodney Sanders, Stormy Scott, and Austin Arneson across the finish line with Zack VanderBeek coming in 5th.

Wrapping up the USMTS Winter Speedweeks on Saturday night, Hughes advanced five spots in his heat capturing an 8-lap victory. Starting in 7th for the 50-lap A-Main, Jason worked his way into 2nd with 12 laps remaining. Attempting a slide job to take the lead, Jason ended up in the wall and eventually held on for a runner-up finish behind Rodney Sanders with Cade Dillard, Johnny Scott, and Ryan Gustin trailing them to the checkers.
