1March 30th, 2013 - Jason entered the King of America III Modified Nationals over the weekend at Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kansas) as ninety-seven of the nation's best competitors entered the $10,000-to-win event.

The United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) event began on Thursday and Friday night with dual qualifying heats each night with cumulative points counting toward the Saturday night finale. On Thursday evening Hughes raced from the ninth starting spot in the first heat to a fifth place finish, and then advanced from the third starting spot to a heat race win in the second heat. He ended the evening sixteenth in the overall standings.

On Friday night Hughes had a great outing as he won the first heat from the fourth starting spot and then won the second heat from the sixth starting spot. Hughes' stellar performance on Saturday night resulted in him finishing with the fifth most points, which locked him into the fifth starting spot for Saturday night's 100 lap finale. For the first half of the feature Hughes waged war in the top five as a tight battled was fought for the lead. His time in the top five came to an abrupt end with twenty laps remaining though as he slowed to bring out the caution with tire issues. After heading to the pits for fresh rubber he rejoined the tail of the field before rebounding to a seventh place finish at the checkered flag.

1March 17th, 2013 - Jason Hughes Motorsports traveled to Texas and Louisiana over the weekend for a three-race swing with the United State Modified Touring Series (USMTS) competitors.

A beautiful evening at RPM Speedway (Crandall, Texas) greeted the competitors on Friday night, and an overflowing pit area of 51 entries awaited battle. A second place finish in the third heat race locked Hughes into the twelfth starting spot for the 40 lap, $4,000-to-win finale. As the race went green Jason began methodically working through the field, and a lap 20 restart saw him jump into the second spot. He took part in a heated battle for the second spot for next dozen laps before finally breaking free as he set his sights on the leader, Rodne Sanders. Hughes challenged Sanders in the closing laps, but was unable to make the pass as he settled for a second place finish.

Friday night found the USMTS competitors in a new town as they invaded Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana) for a $2,000-to-win program. Heat race action atop the 1/4 mile oval left Hughes short of qualifying for the feature, but a second place finish in his b-main locked him into the fifteenth starting spot for the 40 lap feature. In the feature he raced around mid-pack for the duration of the feature, unable to advance any spots as he recorded a fifteenth place finish.

The busy weekend drew to a close on Sunday evening at Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, Louisiana) with another $2,000-to-win event. A fifth to second run in the third heat race moved Jason Hughes to the redraw for the 40 lap feature, where he received the eighth starting spot. Despite getting the short end of the stick in the redraw Hughes enjoyed a strong run in the feature as he passed five cars on his way to a third place finish behind race winner, Stormy Scott, and Rodney Sanders.

1March 9th, 2013 - Jason Hughes set out to enter a pair of USMTS Open Wheel Modified events at Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kansas) over the weekend. On Friday night a $2,000-to-win event was held at the 1/4 mile oval, and with a stacked field of fifty-six competitors in the pit area Jason started his night by advancing from the third starting spot to win the fifth heat race, which positioned him in the redraw for the 40 lap, main event. After receiving the fifth starting spot Jason battled at the front of the pack for the duration of the event before crossing the finish line in the third spot behind race winner, Stormy Scott, and Ryan Gustin.

Saturday night was slated for another $2,000-to-win event, but unfortunately Mother Nature had other ideas and nixed the program.

March 3rd, 2013 - It ws an up-and-down weekend for Jason Hughes as he made the long tow to Southern New Mexico Speedway (Las Cruces, New Mexico) for the 19th Annual Winter Meltdown, which was sanctioned by the USRA and posted a $10,000 top prize.

In the opening round of preliminary action on Friday evening Jason started seventh in his heat race and advanced to a fourth place finish, which left him just shy of locking into the feature. As a result he was forced to run a b-main, which he won to lock into the thirteenth starting spot for the 30 lap feature. As the race went green Hughes slowly began working his forward and was just outside the top ten on lap 23, when he was collected in a multi-car incident that brought his night to an early end in the twentieth position.

On Saturday afternoon another preliminary event was contested, and Hughes blasted from the third starting spot to the win in his heat race to lock into the eighth starting spot for the 30 lap feature. In the main event he passed three cars to finish fifth behind race winner, Terry Phillips, Bumper Jones, Stormy Scott, and Jacob Gallardo. His finish locked him into the tenth starting spot in Sunday's 50 lap, $10,000-to-win finale.

In the big finale Jason battled just outside the top for the duration of the event before crossing the finish line in the seventh position. Full results from the event are available at
