After another rainout on Wednesday, Jason Hughes headed to Mason City Motor Speedway (Mason City, Iowa) on Thursday night for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) RealTruck.com Northern Region event. With twenty-seven Open Wheel Modifieds signed in, Hughes soared to the front in his heat race from the 6th place starting spot. Earning a 7th place starting spot for the feature, Jason improved five spots in the 32-lapper capturing a runner-up finish behind Rodney Sanders with Johnny Scott, Lucas Schott, and Masen Big Eagle rounding out the top five.

Following two rainouts for the USMTS Series on Friday and Saturday night, Hughes returned to action on Sunday at Upper Iowa Speedway (Decorah, Iowa). Drawing twenty-six entries for the 9th Annual “Donnybrook in Decorah”, Jason logged an 8th place outing in his heat sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the top six into the show, Hughes landed a runner-up finish behind Rodney Sanders earning him an 18th place starting spot for the feature. With 42-laps to gain some ground, Jason Hughes streaked through the field eleven positons posting a 7th place finish.

May 21st, 2016 -
Jason Hughes traveled to Outlaw Motor Speedway (Oktaha, Oklahoma) on Friday night for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned MSD Central Region event. Following some problems in his heat race, Jason stormed ten positions in the B-Main logging an 8th place finish. Being granted a provisional into the $3,000-to-win A-Main, Hughes came from the 27th place starting spot to post an impressive 6th place finish in the 37-lap affair.

Saturday night proved to be better for Jason at Salina Highbanks Speedway (Pryor Creek, Oklahoma) as he started the night off with a heat race victory. Earning a 8th place starting spot for the feature, Hughes worked his way into the lead by lap-17. Holding off the field for the remaining 20 laps, Jason Hughes collected a $3,000 payday and his seventh win of the year. Kicking off the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) RealTruck.com Northern Region presented by Day Motor Sports, Jason Hughes was one of forty-eight Open Wheel Modifieds signed in at Ogilvie Raceway (Ogilvie, Minnesota) on Thursday night. Improving five positions in his heat race, Hughes scored a runner-up finish behind Lucas Schott earning him a 3rd place starting spot for the feature. Working his way into the lead by the second lap, Jason never looked back as he soared to his fifth victory of the season with Johnny Scott, Cade Dillard, Stormy Scott, and Zack VanderBeek trailing him to the checkers. The following night brought Hughes to I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minnesota) where he improved three spots in his heat race capturing a heat race victory. Starting in 4th for the feature, Jason eventually held off the field after working his way into the lead on the 17th lap, picking up his sixth victory of the season and third in a row. Hughes was awarded another $3,000 payday for his A-Main triumph.

May 7th, 2016 -
Following a rainout last weekend, Jason Hughes returned to Superbowl Speedway (Greenville, Texas) on Thursday night for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned 2nd Annual North Texas Nationals. Improving two spots in his heat, Hughes secured his spot into the feature with a runner-up finish behind Bobby Ruffin. Starting in 6th for the $3,000-to-win show, Jason held his spot for all 40-laps recording a 6th place outing.

Continuing with the USMTS, Jason traveled to Lubbock Speedway (Lubbock, Texas) on Friday for the Production Jars Southern Region event presented by Day Motor Sports. Cruising to a heat race win, Jason earned a front row starting spot for the feature starting alongside Rodney Sanders. Holding his spotfor all 37-laps, Hughes notched a runner-up finish behind Sanders with Jesse Sobbing, Dereck Ramirez, and Cade Dillard trailing them across the finish line.

Wrapping up the three-day stint, Hughes headed to Route 66 Motor Speedway (Amarillo, Texas) on Saturday night for the 7th Annual USMTS Amarillo Ambush. Improving six spots in his heat race, Hughes scored a 2nd place finish setting him up with the pole position starting spot for the feature. With $3,000 on the line, Jason regained the lead with 12-laps to go picking up his fourth win of the year with Rodney Sanders, Scott Drake, Jeremy Gossett, and Cade Dillard rounding out the top five.
