Competing in the inaugural Widow Wax Summersota Nationals, Jason Hughes was one of fifty-even cars signed in at I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minnesota) on Thursday night for the United Stated Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned event. Running two rounds of heat race the first two nights, Hughes held his starting spot for his heat capturing a heat race win. After gaining nine positions in his second heat, Jason posted a 5th place finish giving him 115.5 points after round one.

Starting in 8th on Friday night for his first heat, Jason improved three spots registering a 5th place finish. Coming from the 4th row in his last heat, Hughes notched a 3th place outing putting him in 9th overall with 172.5 points.

Slated to start 9th for the $15,000-to-win Widow Wax A-Main, Jason Hughes advanced five spots in the feature breaking into the top five with a 4th place finish behind Stormy Scott, Johnny Scott, and Cade Dillard with Rodney Sanders coming in 5th.

June 18th, 2016 -
Following two separate rainouts, the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) followers headed to KRA Speedway (Willmar, Minnesota) on Thursday for the RealTruck.com Northern Region event. Capitalizing off his front row starting spot in his heat, Hughes scored a heat race win setting him up with a 8th place starting spot for the $3,000-to-win A-Main. Working his way into the lead by lap 28, Jason led the remaining fourteen circuits to pick up his eighth win of the season over Rodney Sanders, Tim Johnson, Jason Thoennes, and Jacob Bleess.

On Friday night forty-two entries signed in at Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin) for the 18th Annual Masters. Cruising to a heat race win from the pole position starting spot, Jason was slated to start 7th for the feature. Acquiring the top spot on lap 26, Hughes went on to capture his second straight win and ninth of the season with Lucas Schott, Cade Dillard, Dan Ebert, and Mason Big Eagle trailing him to the checkers. For the final night of the 18th Annual Masters, Hughes held his 9th place starting spot for the entire distance of the 8-lap feature earning a 16th place starting spot for the B-Main. Failing to place 6th or better, Jason was granted a provisional into the $3,000-to-win feature. Improving thirteen positions in the 42-lapper, Jason Hughes reeled in a 12th place outing.

June 11th, 2016 -
Running with the United State Modified Touring Series (USMTS), Jason Hughes was one of forty-one entries signed in at 81 Speedway (Park City, Kansas) on Thursday night for the MSD Central Region event. Recording a runner-up finish in his heat behind Ryan McAninch, Hughes earned an 8th place starting spot for the feature. Dropping out of the top ten, Jason logged a 22nd place outing.

On Friday night thirty-two cars signed in at Longdale Speedway (Longdale, Oklahoma) for the two-day 3rd Annual Rancho Milagro Showdown/Alyssa Ramirez Memorial. Hanging on to his pole position starting spot in his heat, Jason was locked into the main event with a 7th place starting spot. Passing one car in the 37-lap affair, Jason Hughes registered a 6th place finish.

For night two of the two-day USMTS special, Jason improved two position in his heat capturing a heat race victory. Falling back six spots in the $3,000-to-win A-Main, Hughes recorded a 7th place outing on Saturday night.
