- Thursday night found the team pitted at El Paso Speedway Park (El Paso, Texas) for the opening round of the 2nd Annual Icebreaker.

Round #1 of the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) tripleheader drew a field of thirty entries to the 3/8-mile oval, all chasing the $2,000 top prize. A tenth to seventh run in heat race action left Hughes just short of locking into the main event, sending him to a b-main. He went on to win the b-main, locking him into the seventeenth starting spot for the 30-lap feature. In the main event, Jason advanced five positions to a twelfth place finish in the final rundown.

Twenty-eight Open Wheel Modifieds registered for Friday night's program, which posted a $3,000 winner's check. Jason drew the seventh starting spot for his heat race and advanced to a fifth place finish, locking him into the fourteenth spot on the feature grid. During the course of the 40-lap finale, Hughes raced to a tenth place finish.

The weekend drew to a close on Saturday night at El Paso Speedway Park with a $4,000-to-win finale for USMTS competitors. Twenty-eight entries filled the pit area, and struggles in heat race action left Jason short of a transfer position, forcing him to run a b-main. He advanced to a sixth place finish in the b-main, earning him the 22nd starting spot for the 50-lap feature. Jason advanced eight positions during the course of the main event to a fourteenth place finish.

1February 21st, 2015 - Jason Hughes resumed competition with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) over the weekend for a tripleheader at Royal Purple Raceway (Baytown, Texas).

Thursday night's opening round boosted a $2,000 top prize and drew a field of fifty-three entries to the oval. Jason started on the pole of his heat race and won, earning him the tenth starting spot for the 30-lap main event by virtue of passing points. Hughes charged forward in the feature to a runner-up performance behind race winner, Austin Arneson. Clyde Dunn Jr., Jesse Sobbing, and Ben Kates rounded out the top five finishers.

The winner's check increased to $3,000 on Friday night as a stout field of fifty-five Open Wheel Modified registered for battle. Hughes charged to a heat race win from his front row starting spot, earning him a spot in the evening's redraw. Jason drew the fourth starting spot for the 40-lap finale. During the course of the feature, Hughes ran third for much of the race, settling into a podium finish at the checkered flag behind race winner, Dereck Ramirez and Kyle Pleasant. Clyde Dunn Jr. and John O Whittington rounded out the top five finishers.

Mother Nature claimed Saturday night's, $4,000-to-win finale at Royal Purple Raceway.

1February 14th, 2015 - The 2015 United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) season kicked off on Thursday night with a $2,000-to-win program at Shady Oaks Speedway (Goliad, Texas).

Thirty-two Open Wheel Modified warriors converged on the oval, and an eight to second run in heat race action sent Jason to the redraw for the main event. After received the sixth starting position for the 30 lap feature, Jason advanced to a solid runner-up finish behind only race winner, Steven Whiteaker Jr. Ryan Gustin, Dereck Ramirez and Zack VanderBeek rounded out the top five finishers.

Jason would enjoy another strong outing on Friday night at Shady Oaks Speedway, but it would not come easy. Thirty-four entries registered for the event and struggles in heat race action left Hughes short of a transfer position, pinning him deep in a b-main. He advanced to a sixth place finish, but only the top five moved on to the 35-lapper, forcing Jason to utilize a series provisional to gain access to the main event. Despite starting deep in the field, Hughes rocketed from the 23rd position to a third place finish at the checkered flag behind race winner, Dereck Ramirez and Ryan Gustin. Completing the top five were Zack VanderBeek and Phillip Houston.

The weekend drew to a close on Saturday evening with a $4,000-to-win, USMTS program. Thirty-three Open Wheel Modified were on hand for the event, and Jason mounted a great charge from seventh to third in his heat race to earn a spot in the evening's redraw. Hughes received the seventh starting spot on the grid for the 40-lap finale. During the course of the feature he advanced three spots to a fourth place finish behind race winner, Ryan Gustin, Austin Arneson, and Cade Dillard. Jesse Sobbing rounded out the top five finishers.
