1May 31st, 2014 - Jason Hughes returned to action with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Friday evening at Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tennessee) with a $10,000-to-win program and the lightning-fast 4/10 mile oval.

Twenty-one Super Late Model registered for battle, and following preliminary action in his debut at the speed plant Jason started fourteenth on the grid for the 50 lap feature in his #12 Rowland Racing/Road Runner Trucking/Bloomquist Race Cars/Pro Power Racing Engines Super Late Model. In the main event Hughes dodged multiple incidents to advance to an eighth place finish at the checkered flag.

Saturday night found another first for Hughes as he entered his first ever event at Florence Speedway (Union, Kentucky). A strong field of thirty-six entries were on hand for the event, and after failing to transfer into the main event via preliminary action Jason would have to utilize an LOLMDS Emergency Provisional to earn a starting spot in the 50 lap finale. After starting 26th on the grid for the feature Hughes advanced eight positions to an eighteenth place finish.

Jason is now tenth in the series' Championship Point Standings and continues to lead the Rookie of the Year chase. Full results from the weekend and the latest standings are available at www.LucasDirt.com

1May 24th, 2014 - On Thursday evening Jason Hughes traveled to the state-of-the-art Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri) for the opening round of the 22nd Annual Show Me 100, which saw sixty-three entries on hand to battle for the $5,000 top prize in the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) sanctioned event.

A fifth to second run in heat race action earned Jason a spot in the redraw for the 45 lap main event, where he was the recipient of the twelfth starting position. Hughes battled around mid-pack early in the feature before mechanical issues forced him to retire to a disappointing 28th place finish in the final rundown. 1On Friday evening qualifying and preliminary action was contested for the $30,000-to-win, 22nd Annual Lucas Oil Show Me 100 for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS). Sixty-five entries filled the pit area, and struggles in qualifying left Hughes starting tenth in his heat race. He would manage to advance to a fifth place finish in his heat, which sent him to a b-main on Saturday night, where he started in the third position. Unfortunately he would go on to a fourth place finish, which left him short of qualifying for the 100 lap finale on Saturday night.

While he didn't qualify for the main event Jason did earn a starting spot in the Midwest Sheet Metal Non-Qualifier's Race, which posted a $2,000-to-win/$250-to-start purse. He went on to a fourth place finish at the checkered flag in the 20 lap event.

A doubleheader was on tap for the LOLMDS stars, unfortunately it was cut to a single $10,000-to-win program on Saturday after Friday night's event was nixed by Mother Nature.

Thirty-seven Super Late Model competitors were on hand for the event the event, and struggles in heat race action saw Jason falling just short of locking into the 50 lap feature. As a result, he was forced to run a b-main where he finished third to lock into the 22nd starting spot for the finale. Overheating issues during the main event brought his night to an early end and a nineteenth place finish.

1May 3rd, 2014 - Jason began a three day swing with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Thursday night at Macon Speedway (Macon, Illinois). With thirty-one entries in the pit area Hughes missed the transfer into the $12,000-to-win main event via preliminary action, and was forced to use a LOLMDS Emergency Provisional to gain a starting spot on the grid. Despite starting at the tail of the field, Jason survived several caution periods early on to advance eleven position in the 100 lap finale for a fourteenth place finish.

Hughes entered the $10,000-to-win, LOLMDS event at Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Illinois) on Friday evening with a stout field of thirty-four entries on hand. Jason once again found himself behind the eight-ball, failing to make the transfer through his heat race or b-main and using a series provisional to lock into the 23rd starting position in the 50 lap feature. He advanced ten spots to a thirteenth place finish in the final rundown.

Saturday night saw the weekend's busy schedule come to a close at Paducah International Raceway (Paducah, Kentucky) in a $10,000-to-win program that drew thirty-two entries to the oval. The LOLMDS Rookie of the Year candidate charged through the field to a solid fifth place performance behind race winner Jason Feger, Jimmy Owens, Steve Francis, and Don O'Neal.
