March 29th, 2014 - Jason returned to the seat of his #12 Open Wheel Modified over the weekend in the King of American IV Modified Nationals at Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kansas) as ninety-three of the nation's best competitors entered the $10,000-to-win event.

The United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) event began on Thursday and Friday night with double heats and a preliminary feature each night with cumulative points counting toward the Saturday night finale. On Thursday evening Hughes raced to a third place finish in the first heat, and the advanced from the eighth starting spot to a second place run in the second heat. He ended the night with a twelfth place finish in the preliminary feature.

On Friday night preliminaries continued as Hughes advanced from tenth to sixth in the first heat and later finished second after starting third in the second heat. Jason was not able to accumulate enough points to enter the $1,000 preliminary feature but was ranked fourteenth overall on the points chart, putting him on the outside front row of the b-main on Saturday.

When action got underway on Saturday, a second place finish in the b-main locked Hughes into the fourteenth starting spot for the 100 lap main event. During the course of the feature, Jason drove by seven other competitors en route to a solid seventh place finish.

March 22nd, 2014 - Jason Hughes returned to action with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Saturday evening at Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana) for the 17th Annual Indiana Icebreaker.

A talented field of 45 entries were on hand for the $10,000-to-win program, and Jason finished fifth in heat race, missing the transfer to the main event by one position and forcing him to run a b-main. Hughes locked in the 22nd starting spot on the grid after a third place run in the b-main. During the course of the 50 lap feature, passing would be difficult and Jason registered a 24th place finish at the checkered flag.

March 14th, 2014 - Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kansas) was the destination for Jason Hughes to kick off a scheduled triple header weekend with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS). Fifty-two entries were on hand for the $2,000-to-win event, and Jason pulled off a third place finish in his heat race but it was not enough to lock into the main event. Hughes was late able to secure the 15th starting spot in the 40 lap feature by winning his b-main. Jason raced around mid-pack for much of the event and registered a 14th place finish at the checkered flag.

Mother Nature claimed the victory in Saturday's event at Humboldt Speedway and the scheduled event at West Siloam Speedway on Sunday was also canceled due to impending rain/cold conditions in the area.

March 8th, 2014 - After nearly a month off, Jason Hughes returned to action over the weekend competing in the Open Wheel Modified portion of the annual Port-A-Cool Texas Dirt Track Championship at the Dirt Track at Texas Motor Speedway (Justin, Texas).

An talented field of sixty-six cars were signed in for Friday night's preliminary action, all set to battle for Saturday's $3,000 prize. A blazing ninth to third run in his heat race locked Jason in to the ninth starting spot for the A-Main Qualifier. During the preliminary feature, Hughes advanced to a seventh place finish which locked him into the fourth spot for Saturday night's finale. During the course of the 40 lap feature, Jason battle inside the top five before advancing to a second place finish behind only race winner Cade Dillard in the final rundown. Rodney Sanders finished third while John Whittington and Chris brown completed the remainder of the top five.
