1August 31st, 2014 - Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competition took Jason Hughes to Attica Raceway Park (Attica, Ohio) for the first time in his career on Friday night as the $10,000-to-win event attracted a field of thirty-one entries. A third place finish in his heat race positioned Jason starting eleventh in the main event. In the feature he battle around mid-pack for much of the event before crossing the finish line in twelfth.

Saturday evening found the River Days Rumble being held at Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) as a $10,000 top prize was posted. A sixth place finish in his heat race left him short of transferring to the feature, but a second place finish in his b-main locked Jason into the nineteenth starting spot for the 50 lap finale. In the main event Hughes advanced five positions en route to a fourteenth place finish.

Sunday night's action was highlighted by the 46th Annual Hillbilly Hundred at I-77 Raceway Park (Ripley, West Virginia), which saw a $25,000 winner's check posted for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) event. A stout field of forty-two Super Late Model entered the program, and Jason need a second place finish in the b-main to lock into the nineteenth starting spot on the feature grid for the second straight night. During the course of the feature Hughes raced around mid-pack before crossing the finish line in fifteenth.

1August 23rd, 2014 - Jason entered his first ever event at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tennessee) on Thursday night for a $10,000-to-win, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) event.

The 11th Annual Scorcher 50 drew a field of twenty-seven Super Late Model to the 4/10 speedplant, and a sixth place finish in the second heat race positioned Jason starting seventeenth in the 50 lap main event. Hughes battled around mid-pack for much of the event, avoiding attrition, to register a thirteenth place finish in the final rundown.

The LOLMDS was idle on Friday night, so Hughes used the opportunity to enter a $10,001, ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series event at Ponderosa Speedway (Junction City, Kentucky). Thirty-eight entries converged on the 3/8 mile oval, and Jason fell one spot short of the transfer via heat race action, sending him to a b-main. Unfortunately, rains came before the b-mains could be contested. Although the program continued into the early morning hours, the team decided to scratch from the remainder of the event. The continued north on Saturday night as they resumed competition with the LOLMDS at Lawrenceburg Speedway (Lawrenceburg, Indiana). A $10,000 winner's check was on the line, and twenty-eight competitors signed in for battle. Jason finished fourth in the first heat race, earning him the tenth starting spot on the feature grid. Hughes battled around the top ten for much of the event before ultimately settling to a thirteenth place finish.

1August 16th, 2014 - Jason Hughes traveled to Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas) over the weekend to compete in the 22nd Annual COMP Cams Topless 100 presented by Crop Production Services.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the Lucas Oil presents the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series co-sanctioned the $40,000-to-win crown jewel, which drew a stout field of sixty-three Super Late Models to the 3/8 mile oval.

Struggles in qualifying found Jason starting deep in his heat race on Friday night, and he was only able to manage an eighth place finish. As a result he would have to run a b-main on Saturday where he failed to reach a transfer position, bringing his weekend to an early end.

1August 9th, 2014 - Jason Hughes resumed competition with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) over the weekend as the tour invaded Florence Speedway (Union, Kentucky) for the 32nd Annual North/South 100.

A stout field of fifty-three entries filled the pit area at the 1/2 mile oval on Friday, which saw double heat races being contested. Jason's heat race performances was not enough to lock him into Saturday's main event, sending him to a b-main where he would start fifth.

In the b-main, Hughes fell one spot short of a transfer position, forcing him to utilize a series emergency provisional to lock in the 26th starting spot on the grid for the 100 lap, $50,000-to-win finale. Despite starting at the back of the pack, Jason advanced twelve spots during the course of the feature to register a fourteenth place finish at the checkered flag.
